Rebecca Herbst originated the role of Elizabeth Webber on General Hospital in August of 1997. The character of Elizabeth was originally written as a mischievous teenager, but since has become a stable young adult, thanks in part to her romance with Lucky Spencer and her close friendships with Emily Quartermaine and Nikolas Cassadine. In February of 1999, Rebecca won a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Younger Lead Actress. She has also received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Younger Actress, also in 1999. Born on May 12th, Rebecca knew early that she wanted to be on television. She has since then appeared in over 60 national commercials, educational videos, and guest roles on many television series, including "Highway to Heaven," "LA Law," "Beverly Hills 90210," and "Days of our Lives. Most recently, Rebecca played Suzee, a series regular on cable's "Space Cases." Despite her involvement in the entertainment industry, Rebecca maintains that she had a normal childhood. In her words; "I always stayed in school and I went to the dances and the prom, and it was my decision." At the age of 16, Rebecca had to make a choice between skating, her other love, and acting. Seven years later, Becky loves to ice skate and roller blade in her free time. |
